Creativity can improve your wellbeing, helping you to feel good which in turn helps you be resilient to life's ups and downs, helping you function well. It doesn't take much either, even small improvements to your wellbeing helps you to flourish, as well as being beneficial for some mental health conditions.
Two of the Five Ways to Wellbeing are to Keep Learning and to Give - you can give your experience and knowledge to others, and they can learn from you; making you both feel good.
Try something new. Rediscover an old interest. Sign up for that course. Take on a different responsibility at work. Fix a bike. Learn to play an instrument or how to cook your favourite food. Set a challenge you will enjoy achieving. Learning new things will make you more confident as well as being fun.

"Do something nice for a friend, or a stranger. Thank someone. Smile. Volunteer your time. Join a community group. Look out, as well as in. Seeing yourself, and your happiness, linked to the wider community can be incredibly rewarding and creates connections with the people around you."

If crafting helps you feel good, if it helps you zone out and forget your troubles for a while, we would love to know about it so you can inspire others who might be feeling stressed, lonely, depressed - often seeing what others do in similar situations helps people to consider trying it themselves, see if it might work for them.
If you then use the fruits of your creative self-care to pay it forward and Give to others through volunteering your time or donating your handmade cards and crafts, we would love to know about that too.
"I hope writing about this does inspire other people to share their experiences, there are so many unsung heroes around, thanks for facilitating this" - Sandie
