Managing Dyslexia Wakefield Group

We are a community group of adults with Dyslexia and associated mental health.

We normally meet weekly in Sandal Library in Wakefield but are currently keeping in touch via group messaging due to Covid-19.

We share things we've been doing and as their tutor, I wanted to share some of these with you.

People with Dyslexia are usually very creative and I'm sure you'll agree that this is the case.

Karen, our talented card maker who gets all her supplies from Crafting4Good, tells me:

'I can forget what else is going on when I'm card making. I zone out and always feel better afterwards.'

We also have talented bakers and a lady who has been making wristwarmers from donated wool.

We sell all these items at fundraising events to raise money for our community group.

Hi Vanessa, thank you for submitting your group's story - I love the fact that you're not only being creative for the enjoyment of it, but you are also using the end products to further benefit your group through fundraising. Wishing you much success!
