Enterprise Elf Project - Heart 4a Heart

by Lisa
(Wakefield UK)

I began volunteering at crafting4good CIC in November 2021. I became an "Enterprise Elf". But what I didn't realise how I would develop friends for life. I had this opportunity to work with others and craft, something I love doing. The bonus in the project for me was raising money for Crafting4Good.

Our project was, the Heart 4a Heart Kits and they are available in our Crafting4Good Shop based in The Ridings Centre, Wakefield. These are handcrafted kits by our very own community volunteers, “The Enterprise Elves”. The community volunteers planned the project, made the packs, and enjoyed every minute of the process and it benefited their wellbeing in the process.

The idea is to purchase a kit and craft it together yourself and give the heart to someone. We are encouraging creativity and kindness.
We ask for a minimum donation of £2.

I have benefited hugely from this project as I have met likeminded people with shared interests and people that I now class as friends. I have also gained skills and development for future employment and the act of socialising and accomplishment has improved my mental health. I feel more resilient after this project.

------------------------

The 'Enterprise Elves' and 'Creators' were part of a pilot programme: volunteers started with a creative brief which they developed, then designed and put together craft packs for sale in our shop. The pilot has now ended while we focus on other project work, but may return in the future...
